To promote and cultivate the talents of fashion designers, makers, and artists.
To create an ecosystem that advances designers and artists to achieve their most promising futures.
Style Week Pittsburgh (SWP) was launched in 2013 by entrepreneur Wadria Taylor to promote talented fashion designers and artists from the region.
With events and programming spanning across the city, SWP celebrates Pittsburgh’s communities and their diversity, resulting in increased connections and collaborations amongst designers, artists, and businesses.
Because of the uniqueness and diversity of talent showcased each year, SWP has grown into an artistic movement that stimulates economic development in the Pittsburgh region.
As founder and Creative Director of Style Week Pittsburgh, Wadria is passionate about helping artists and creatives leverage their talents, achieve their goals, and flourish.
“Each year, I am inspired to raise the bar because of the incredible talent in Pittsburgh lacking exposure. This mission has resulted in Style Week Pittsburgh creating unique opportunities and partnerships that are elevating Pittsburgh’s profile within the fashion world and stimulating the local economy.”
Wadria is a transplant from Jamaica by way of Brooklyn, NY. She received a Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy and Politics from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from Carlow University.
“Pittsburgh is on the brink of a renaissance and fashion is a big part of that.”
